The city lies on the Gulf St. Vincent, on the southern coast of Australia. It has 1,146,119 inhabitants (2006) and is the fifth city in Australia. Adelaide was founded in 1836 and is named after Adelaide of Queen Adelaide, the wife of the then reigning British King William IV.

Adelaide is known as the 'City of Churches "because of the many churches which the city counts. Another common name is "The 20 minute city", due to the easy accessibility of almost all places in and even outside the city. So you (off-peak) within 20 minutes by car from the CBD (Central Business District) to the beach, in the Adelaide Hills or McLaren Vale. This is largely due to Colonel William Light. It’s also the night you meet your table mates. Here is another cruise tip, be a few minutes late on the first night (only on the first night-be prompt from then on). There is usually a crush of people when the dinner bell rings and everyone is trying to find their table.

As with most cruises, comfortable walking shoes are a must. The magnificent cruise ships can be deceiving in size. And of course most of the shore excursions require some walking. Another important packing tip is: don't buy brand new walking shoes for your cruise. Make sure that your walking shoes are well broken in and comfortable.

Beach and pool attire is acceptable in most of the open air areas of the ship on your Caribbean cruise. For daytime dining rooms and lounges you may require shorts and tops. Shoes and sandals are usually required except in the pool and deck areas mainly for health and safety.

A cruise is obviously a very comfortable way to vacation at one of several Caribbean islands to discover, also on board is a lot to do and a cruise is also much less expensive than one might think. For in the Caribbean you can choose from a large number of cruise ships in all kinds and all budgets.

Warm weather climate invites casual open toe footwear. Remember the tops and souls of your feet can burn if left exposed and unprotected. It’s fun to adorn our toes, nails and ankles. While you’re at it, make moisturizer and UV protection a routine part of vacation foot care. Aching, burnt, blistered and dry feet can be immobilizing.

Little strappy shoes are a fun part of cruise wear. Avoid tan lines as you walk about the pool aboard ship -- Barely There adhesive sandals stick to your soles. They’re novel and quiet, without the flip-flop…and allow you to change between sandal styles without tan lines spoiling the effect. They’re also a great conversation piece!

Ha Long Bay travel

Vietnam Travel is known as the safest Travel destination that also offer travelers outstanding cultural features and natural beauty. Situated near the mighty Stikine River, Wrangell is an unexpected, delightful gem for travelers seeking a romantic vacation. There is something here for everyone. Whether you and your significant other are thrill-seekers, or prefer the solace and quiet of a sleepy town, you'll find what you're looking for here.

If you and your special someone prefer an active, adventure-packed vacation, travel the Stikine River. You can do so on a chartered jet boat, by raft, or by air. Whatever your mode of travel, you'll see remote, spectacular glaciers, pristine, mirror-like lakes and smooth, slender estuaries. A helicopter ride through the breathtaking coastal mountains will provide you with ample aerial photo opportunities, while a pounding jet boat ride will exhilarate and amaze you. A raft or kayak will provide you with the opportunity to get up close and personal with Alaska's natural resources.

Wrangell also boasts the Anan Bear & Wildlife Observatory. An ancient native Tlingit fishing site, the Anan Estuary and Observatory can be reached by boat or plane, and provides visitors with an opportunity to observe bears hunting for salmon in the estuary from the Observatory's observation platform. Be careful not to wander into the forest surrounding the observatory! Bears hunting for salmon probably won't appreciate any interferences during their yearly feast.

This growing Alaska town also boasts some of North America's most beautiful hiking trails and lovely, remote campsites. Wrangell was once one of the largest garnet mine in the country, and to this day, children still find the semi-precious stones and offer them to visitors as souvenirs. Visiting the Wrangell garnet mine will take you back in history and provide you with an opportunity to come away with a beautiful memento of your journey that will last a lifetime.

If you and your significant other are seeking something a bit quieter, walk on the boardwalk at Petroglyph Beach and view the etchings. The petroglyphs, which are carvings in rock, were created nearly 8,000 years ago by some of the first people to inhabit the area. Scientists still aren't sure what the motivation was for creating the petroglyphs, but they're a must-see.

Whether you and your loved one are along for a thrill or for a quiet vacation, you should also take the time to experience Wrangell's shopping and dining. Many artists make their homes in Wrangell, providing visitors with an opportunity to view and purchase unique artwork, and Wrangell's many and varied restaurants provide excellent opportunities for you and your loved one to enjoy a quiet, romantic dinner.

When you visit Wrangell, make sure to visit between late June and early August. Because it is located in Alaska, Wrangell experiences many long months of inclement weather. Snow and ice may make it difficult to get around, as will Wrangell's lack of paved roads. Additionally, if you choose to rent a car, consider investing in an SUV or another off-roading vehicle to make your travel more comfortable and safer. Some cruise agents are very competent, others were sold stereos or towing aluminum rail on the phone six months ago. A cruise travel agency in a position to provide much information about many different Cruise Lines.

For example, Carnival is known as the Fun Ships Celebrity for its excellent cuisine. Disney, of course, is on the children, Holland America is more of an older group (not dead, they just do not want to be at a party ship), Princess is family oriented. Then there is the full list of luxury lines, SilverSeas, Radisson, and Crystal Cruises. All of them offer their own style of cruise

Ask the travel agent cruise to a few questions. See if they CLIA accreditation. CLIA stands for Cruise Lines International Association and the industry standard. Find out how many vacation cruise and the travel agent was on the Cruise Lines. If the travel agent has just crossed a line that you know, the Cruise Line, which they recommend. If they are the pros and cons of the various cruise lines you know that you have found a good cruise travel agent.

Always ask if it is a preferred supplier to the Cruise Line, they are recommended. Many travel agents, cruise booked numerous cabins on a cruise line will receive preferred status ie they will receive an additional bonus of the Cruise Line for all you book a cruise for vacation.

Local travel agencies or other self-appointed cruise experts often read the cruise ship line PR veneer right from the catalog. Often proves to be nothing more than sell you the standard discount for booking your cruise holiday, available to virtually all out of the brochure rate.

The result is that you think that you are always a cruise ship that does not meet your criteria. What you on a garish neon nightmare of a ship with people whose idea of a good time, drink, celebrate, and then wake up at 3, as they boisterously announce their arrival back in their rooms - all in front of your cabin.

For sure this is the idea of a roaring good for some time - but the point is, know what you really BUYING! There are many important issues and nuances that are between an OK trip, and one that is not the abbreviation for the money you spend.

Many travel agencies or sightseeing often offer "special discounts". This is a common trick travel to promotional offers, often based on a special "Cruise Night." You can e-mail, or perhaps there is an ad in the local newspaper. They go in, are met and greeted, punch and enjoy free cookies and a wonderful Cruise Video.

Note that this is the reliance on a strong emotional buying decision. Expert on the psychology of sales relate this experience what a top car salesman knows. In issuing the dealer if the potential customer behind the wheel to the "new car smell" and the fantasy of the train in the driveway - you've probably already made a sale!

However, if you one of these meetings to preview cruise often do not try to suit your needs and tailor a cruise to meet these needs. They will give you general information to sell as many of the same cruise vacation as possible. They deserve that meets your considerations.

Cruise travel agents are certainly the easiest way to make when booking a cruise vacation, but if you are a travel agent, they have one-on-one rather than in a group situation. Make sure they hear what you say and if you are hesitant, address immediately. Most agents are professional enough to take a step back and adjustments based on what you say.

To take a little time and research your cruise travel agency, until you find that you are comfortable with. If you have the right travel agency they steer you to the best cruise line for you and enjoy a great cruise vacation.

Luxury Hotel in Dubai

Someone said: "When we call some hotels just a luxury hotel, we do not judge their actual size." No, it does not have a cruise around the world or the first class weekend (but if you can afford it, what are you waiting for?) It has proven to be honest to better vacation, when no phones, no laptops. Mark the dates on the calendar and keep it as you keep all business appointment.

(2)we are going to involve each other in the trip planning. Often all four partners will be responsible for planning a trip ... and that the task quickly became a bore. Plan your trips together! Anticipation is half the fun. Visit a travel agency. Collect brochures. Buy a guide. Rent a video about your destination. Search the Web for information.

(3) we will do something, we have rarely done. Whether it's for the night or the night out, plan four tiny part of the holiday every month. The only rule: you must pretend you are on vacation. Book one night at a local bed and breakfast. Call your local hotel and find out their non-peak nights (in business-oriented cities, it's usually Friday and Saturday), then plan a short romantic weekend.

(5) we will go to at least four festivals. Special events take place in about every community in the world. Whatever your interests - from square dancing to Sandcastle building - you'll find a feast to celebrate with a day or a fun and food. If you do not have the time or resources too far, contact area chamber of commerce or tourism offices within a day's drive of your house for their events. If you can extend your trip into a long weekend. If you have the time and resources, check out a lot of fun of the big festivals: Carnival, Mardi Gras, Rio's Berlin, Berlin. Do not forget your costume!

Reasons Why Skiing Is Good For You

At last, solid proof for what we’ve long suspected: skiing and snowboarding are good for you. And that’s not just because they’re both great fun and put a smile on your face but because this also improves our health, happiness, red blood cell count and makes us live longer. The evidence has always been there for us to see: the bearded septuagenarian bounding past you for the fifteenth time as you struggle down your first run of the day. Here’s his secret...

Sunlight.
Are you SAD? 1 in 50 people in the UK suffer from seasonal affective disorder which is a type of depression which commonly occurs during the winter months when the days are shorter. You travel to and from work in the dark, are cooped up in the office all day, and levels of serotonin, the brain’s natural mood lifter, drop. SADs can vary from mild winter blues to a more severe form where people can’t function in the winter without treatment. So get treatment and get up on the mountain. You may get depressed about the cost of a beer on the slopes, but that’s not quite the same thing.

Adrenalin.
We’re all just animals, obviously some creationists may disagree, but we need to exercise our fight or flight responses. What safer, or better, way of doing this than searching out the steepest black run you can find, or something just a little bit beyond your normal comfort zone. The adrenalin surge will activate the beta receptors in your nervous system causing your heart to beat faster and increasing air to the lungs. This stimulates the brain, and the endorphin rush of relief when it’s over, will make you feel like a super human after every run. You can then undo the good work done by celebrating with some après ski in the bar afterwards.

Altitude.
Can the news get any better? Just being at altitude can make you thin, fit and desirable - at least the first two are true. A couple of years ago the Austrian Moderate Altitude Study was carried out. Men who were overweight and suffered from high blood pressure and high cholesterol were prescribed walks at an altitude of between 1400m and 2000M. The result? Exercise at altitude improves heart function and circulation, lowers blood pressure and burns calories. There was also an increased number of young red blood cells. So, as far as the theory goes, skiing rocks and just getting off at the top of the Aiguille du Midi (3842m) could add years to your life.

Fresh Air.
Spending time in the great outdoors helps to prevent disease and boost recovery. You can avoid the pretty nasty particles which float around in the urban air. According to some Harvard boffins in their Six Cities 1993 study those people living in the most polluted cities have a 26% greater risk of dying young than those in the cleanest. So give yourself a break from the congested traffic and polluted air and breath in that fresh, crisp, revitalising mountain air.

Learning.
Learning is good for us. Your parents told you so and they were right, but they and you need to heed that advice. Learning new skills later in life can slow down the onset of dementia. Attempting challenges such as learning a foreign language - which you can practice at the bar - or new skills, such as skiing, will reduce the risk of getting age related symptoms and diseases such as Alzheimer’s.

So what are you waiting for? Skiing is not only great fun but also scientifically proven to be good for you. Now that surely is an unbeatable combination.

Reasons to Use a Full Service Online Travel Agent

When it comes to planning your vacation, it's tempting to go the do-it-yourself route. After all, it's easy enough to book an airline flight reservation. Why shouldn't you also do your own booking for a car rental, hotel, or even a cruise? Here are five reasons why you should leave your vacation planning to a professional, full service online travel agent:

1. Terrific Deals

You can do your own booking, but you won't necessarily get a low far or the best deal. Airlines, hotels, car rental agencies, and cruise ships count on people to make their own reservations and charge higher rates to those who do. Yet they don't really make a profit until they're completely booked.

Think of hotel rooms, airplane seats, and cruise ship cabins as perishable commodities. Just like an expired carton of milk has to be pulled off the grocery store shelf, on any given night, an empty hotel room is lost revenue that will never be regained. Similarly, an airplane is going to fly and a cruise ship will embark whether or not the seats and cabins are full. It's in the best interest of hotels, airlines, and cruise ships to be fully booked. That's why they offer discounted fares to an online travel agent, who can then pass along the savings to you.

2. Full Packages

A full service online travel agent can put together package vacations to destinations and hotel properties to which you might not otherwise have access. Perhaps you're a golfer, and want a dream golf vacation. Maybe a Caribbean vacation is on the horizon. Or maybe you are looking for the perfect cruise package. Although it's sometimes possible to book travel packages with the destination, you often don't get the options that best meet your needs. An online travel agent can put together packages that work best for you and your family.

3. Group Travel

Extended families often travel together, and businesses have group travel requirements from time to time. In either case, a full service online travel agent can easily book trips for people who have the same destination but who are traveling from different places. Having a group travel coordinator gives everyone peace of mind and ensures that the group's needs are met.

4. Great Service

When you go the do-it-yourself route, it's often difficult to coordinate all aspects of your travel. Making sure that your flights depart and arrive at optimal times, that your hotel reservation is in order, that your car rental will be available, and that you'll have everything in order to board a cruise ship is no walk in the park. An online travel agent can do all the legwork for you so you can concentrate on preparing for your trip. And, if you have a change in plans, the great service that an online travel agent provides can make the transition a smooth one.

5. Honeymoon Registry

If you're planning your honeymoon, an online travel agent can provide you with the latest trend in wedding gifts: the honeymoon registry. When you register with a full service online travel agent, your guests can contribute funds to your honeymoon, or they can buy specific services (such as a spa treatment or a romantic breakfast in bed) that you have on your wish list.

While it's possible to book travel yourself, why would you want to? After all, the advantages in using a full service online travel agent are limitless.

Using New York Limousine Service

While many people perceive a New York Limousine service as a luxury reserved for the wealthy, others are embracing the concept that a New York limo can be both cost effective and practical. Indeed, there are many occasions where a limo makes more sense than other forms of transportation. Here are five:

1. Airport Transportation

With the heightened security measures at airports across the country - and especially at New York airports - it's far too much of a hassle to drive yourself to the airport. When you have to park and drag your luggage to a shuttle and into the airport, it can add another hour to the time you have to allot for pre-boarding. Whether you're looking for JFK airport transportation, or need a ride to LaGuardia or Newark, a limo service can be just the ticket. You can go in style in a stretch limo, or opt for the more practical Town Car. If the whole family is heading to the airport, a limo in New York can be a seven-passenger van or even a 19-passenger limo bus.

2. Weddings

A stretch limousine in New York may be standard for the bride and groom, but a limo service can also be a godsend for the bridal party and even for out of town guests. The best limo companies have worry-free wedding packages and coordinators who can ensure that everyone will get to the church (or synagogue or mosque) on time - and then to the reception and back to their hotels.

3. Tours

If you're visiting the Big Apple and want to take in the sights, a New York limousine service can show them to you in style. Depending on the number in your party, you can use a limo, a sedan, a van, or a bus to enjoy all that New York has to offer. You can create your own itinerary, and rest assured that the driver will double as a professional tour guide. The best services provide complimentary refreshments and snacks, and even have drivers who can give tours in languages other than English.

4. Sporting Events

When you and your buddies are going to a game, the last thing you need is that hassle of driving and parking at the event. Plus, if you want to knock back a few beers, you certainly don't want to be behind the wheel after the game. A New York limousine can take you to Yankee Stadium, Madison Square Garden, or Flushing Meadows and back again in style.

5. Business Meetings

Whether you're in town for business, or are hosting out-of-town colleagues or potential clients, a New York limousine service can help ensure that attendees will get to your meetings on time. A good limo service has experienced drivers who are knowledgeable, discreet, and familiar with the needs of the business traveler. If needed, some limo services also have armored vehicles in their fleet.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, but rest assured that a New York limousine service isn't only for the wealthy. There are many occasions when a limo can take the hassle out of transportation.

Tips to Saving Money on Beach Vacation Travel

Here’s a really simple way to save on beach vacation travel. We are going to show you 3 ways to save you some bucks when booking your next beach vacation. The beach is an incredible experience. No matter whether you’ve traveled to far western Australia or taken a quick weekend trip to the Jersey Shore, barring rain, the beach is usually a really enjoyable experience. We’ve taken trips all over the world we’ve missed giant opportunities of money savings that were seemingly all around us if we had just taken the time to do a little extra research. Well, you are in luck. The travel research has been done for you, all you have to do is be willing to keep reading. Before you know it, you’ll be taking the beach vacation of your life, for a steeply discounted price. Here we go:

1) Buy it used. Well, not really used: more like discounted (or unused actually). Sometimes, people can put their vacation opportunities up at real discounts. Did you know that there are all sorts of people out there who own time shares but can’t use them for various reasons? Maybe the season isn’t right, or they can’t seem to get the flight that they need. Ebay has a thriving market for timeshare opportunities. A lot of the listings are permanent (e.g. people looking for others to buy their times shares out completely), but sometimes people are just looking to monetize a weeks worth of timeshare that they can’t seem to use themselves. Their loss can be your opportunity. Ebay is an auction, and the highest price wins usually.

2) Compare everything. Guess what? Expedia and Orbitz seem like they are juggernauts of internet travel and they control a lot of the market. BUT, they don’t have every vendor available. A lot of the discount airlines like SouthWest and JetBlue don’t use either of these massive companies and you can only get their deals by going directly to their website. Don’t’ tell anyone, but from what we’ve heard JetBlue is supposed to have really nice seats and monitors on new planes with really good prices. We haven’t used JetBlue ourselves yet, but it’s supposed be really good (especially at delivering good value on Northeast to Florida routes). That tip alone could save you some bucks while getting you a really nice flight.

3) The first 2 points are perfectly valid in any trip planning but almost worthless when you consider that you might have to shell out a lot more bucks for destinations abroad. There is a beautiful beach state located not too far from anyone East of the Mississippi. That’s right. Florida. Florida is back and it’s beaches are still fantastic. Florida is still beautiful. There has been a lot of development of Florida during the last 50 years, but Florida is still a massive state with plenty of undiscovered beaches. The state of Florida can be great if you know where to look. It’s pretty nice. Trust us….the undiscovered spots of Florida can really be something else. However, they are becoming more and more difficult to find as thousands of people move to Florida every month.

Secrets to Selecting Hawaii Vacation Rental

You've finally decided you and your family on going to take that long awaited dream vacation in Hawaii. You've decided that you want to go the vacation rental route for numerous reasons: privacy, comfort, location and cost effectiveness. Next, you probably Googled Oahu Vacation Rentals and are faced with the daunting task of choosing among some 175,000 web sites. Where to begin? Here's two secrets that will help you make the right choice so you can enjoy your stay in Hawaii to its fullest.

Secret One: Use a reservation service. There are several reasons for this. First, a single property vacation rental listing by owner will severely limit you to the dates that you can take your vacation. Vacation rental properties in Hawaii run nearly 90% occupancy, so unless you know your travel dates six months to a year out the odds are high that their property won't be available for the travel dates you had in mind. Second, the owner is only concerned with booking their own property so they will extol the virtues of their vacation rental and not mention any of the faults.

Secret Two: Make the right choice of reservation service. Make sure it is locally owned and operated. Websites like vrbo and findrentals (for instance) don't have a clue about geography, weather, attractions, events and the other necessary information required to give you the property that best fills your needs. For instance, let's say you want to whale watch but also want to vacation on Oahu. Your reservation service should be able to tell you that you need to stay on the windward side of the island if you want to see the whales. Another tip-off of services to avoid are those that do automated, credit card bookings. Steer clear of these services as this implies they aren't interested in talking to you, they just want your money. Be wary of sites that have more than 100 properties….there aren't that many decent selections on Oahu, or any of the other Hawaiian islands, on the market. The more a service exceeds 100 properties, the greater the odds you'll end up in an overpriced, undesirable vacation rental. Here's another great hint. If a reservation service states that they have hotels or condos available in Kailua, or will have them soon, choose another service. Since, by zoning law, Kailua does not allow hotels or condos, you should realize that once again, this is a service that wants your money, not your piece of mind. Always ask the reservation service person you are talking to where they are located. Someone based in Las Vegas or Los Angeles won't have a clue about how to give you the best property for the vacation experience you have in mind.

With the standard vacation rental property terms being no refunds after you've paid your deposit, you absolutely want to make sure you make the right choice. A good reservation service will ask you questions about what you want to do and see on your vacation and will actually try and talk you out of a property you had in mind if they don't think it appropriate to what you had in mind. This is not an attempt to upsell you, it's more a matter of matching your vacation desires and needs with the perfect choice of vacation rental venue. One vacation rental reservation service that meets all these requirements is Pacific Islands Reservations. They are owned and operated by Ingrid Carvalho, who was born and raised in the islands, as were her parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. She has been serving visitors to Hawaii vacation rental needs since 1996. She currently represents ninety vacation rentals on Oahu and another 90 vacation rentals on Maui, Kauai and the Big Island. She has actually been to each and every property she represents--she even took most of the photographs of the vacation rentals you see on her web sites.
